PITTSBURGH - Prosecutors are seeking the death penalty for a man accused of killing three Pittsburgh police officers.

A spokesman for Allegheny County District Attorney Stephen Zappala Jr. said Monday that the paperwork to support the death penalty against 22-year-old Richard Poplawski should be filed by the middle of next week.

Poplawski is accused of lying in wait and killing three officers summoned by his mother during an argument this month.
