PITTSBURGH — A man is in critical condition after he was run over by a Port Authority of Allegheny County bus he was chasing in Pittsburgh.

Port Authority spokesman Jim Ritchie says the accident happened about 11:30 p.m. Monday.

Port Authority police are investigating and have not released the man's name.

The man is at UPMC Mercy hospital.

PITTSBURGH — A Pittsburgh-area college denies it violated a student's constitutional rights by barring her from distributing fliers for a group that advocates for guns on campus.The Community College of Allegheny County says Christine Brashier did not follow the proper channels for forming a group or distributing printed material on campus. It responded to Brashier's allegations on Monday.Brashier says she was barred from handing out fliers for Students for Concealed Carry on Campus and told to destroy the pamphlets.The college says Brashier cannot distribute pamphlets calling herself the "campus leader" of a group that has not been approved. To gain approval, a group must have at least 10 potential members and a faculty adviser, among other things.

PITTSBURGH — The formal arraignment for a Pittsburgh man accused of fatally shooting three city police officers at his home has been completed by computer.Neither 22-year-old Richard Poplawski nor his public defender appeared in Allegheny County court for the routine proceeding. Instead, court documents were filed by computer Monday in preparation for his eventual trial.
