OHIOPYLE — A man drowned after being swept over a waterfall at Ohiopyle State Park.

Park Manager John Hallas said a 20-year-old Washington, Pa., man was swimming in the Youghiogheny River with four friends Tuesday afternoon when he was swept over the 18-foot-high Ohiopyle Falls. A kayaker pulled him from the river, but he was pronounced dead on arrival at Uniontown Hospital. His name was withheld because his family hadn't been notified.

Also Tuesday, a 12-year-old boy fell into Nine Mile Run at Frick Park in Pittsburgh and was listed in critical condition at Children's Hospital late Tuesday.
