Dave asks why I utilize public forums in Butler to air my views and why I haven't tried to initiate change in the legislative arena, etc. My answer is that I do engage in these activities, but I also like to present my views to Butler because it is my hometown and, at times, I enjoy the exchange of ideas that sometimes occurs. It is not that I just publish my views in Butler, I do utilize other means and have met with legislators, candidates, and interest groups as well as written op-ed pieces. In fact, I am a board member of the Action Fund of Planned Parenthood of Western Pennsylvania, a member of Prevention Point Pittsburgh (needle exchange), a previous executive committee member of the Pennsylvania League of Young Voters, and I have also been involved with numerous political campaigns (Democrat and Republican).
