WILKES-BARRE — An Arkansas man who lived in a northeastern Pennsylvania family's attic for more than a week in December has been sentenced to nine to 23 months in jail.

Stanley Wayne Carter, 21, of Trumann, Ark., was sentenced Tuesday in Luzerne County Court. He pleaded guilty in May to burglary, trespassing and other offenses.

SALTSBURG — Authorities suggest whoever killed three women at a Western Pennsylvania auto glass shop might have hid evidence at a farm.Edith Tietge, 81, her sister, Doris Lee Murphy, and Murphy's daughter were found shot to death April 23 inside Ferguson Glass in Saltsburg.According to a warrant unsealed Tuesday, investigators found two rifles and bullets at the farm belonging to Roy Martin. A handgun believed to be the murder weapon was found at the shop.The warrant says Kevin Murphy, Doris Murphy's son, had been at his uncle's farm the evening of the murders.Police won't say if Murphy is a suspect, but they've taken his blood and clothing to compare with other evidence.
