I agree with you there. People should be only on welfare for a short period of time without a job. They should have a time limit to get a job, or be cut off from the system. Unless they are under those special circumstances.Also I am sure our taxpaying money have gone to some wrong things, but in my opinion nothing could be worse then helping drug addicts out!

First off if you know your son is selling his food stamps for cash, to get drugs why not turn him in? Understandable he's your son, and it's easier said then done. Only you said yourself if he came to you to buy his food stamps you would. So knowing what he is doing, and not doing nothing about it, is plain wrong. You also stated that let people stay on government assistant until their youngest child starts school. Maybe, but what about all the people that are having kids for more help, and don't know when to keep their zippers up? Then we are just going to have more unwanted babies, because these people don't want to get off the system. In other words some people would see their last child is reaching school age, so instead of getting a job, they would just have another kid! Now what? They are back on the system for another 5 or 6 years? In no way am I belittling the people that need the help. Life is hard, and the economy changing is making it even harder. People lose jobs everyday, and may need the help. I am glad to know that there is a system out there that if something would happen, and I need it then it's there. Only like you I too would only be on it for a short period of time, and take whatever job I could until something better came along. I respect you for that. Some people would milk it out..aka the lazy ones. The government though doesn't need to help support the drug addicts, they need to stop helping the addicts! Maybe your one voice on your son could start the change.
