I took three cats there - all female. They were beautiful. Someone dumped them at the house and I tried for two weeks to find them a home before I took them to a shelter. A shelter wanted $45 for each cat because they were my pets since I had them that long.

If I kept them, I wanted them fixed and I couldn't afford that either.

Butler Humane Society told me to call Tiger Ranch and we felt very comfortable leaving them there. She said she had a vet who came in and donations to cover fixing them. If I wanted one back, I was expected to make a donation to cover the expense myself. Seemed fair, but we decided we didn't really want a cat; no matter how pretty they were.

Guess what - we have a new community cat this year. Female. Clarion is closed. Venango wants money and when I called Butler several years ago, they sent me to Tiger Ranch and it is closed. So, what do I do? Don't feed it and hope that it doesn't drop a litter of kittens here?

Oh, there is a letter to editor in the paper that mentions Clarion had room for them - Clarion closed a few months ago, but it had usuable, suitable space.
