As expected, the good doctor quickly responded to my previous post. I do not dispute his statements, in general what he says is correct. Canadians do indeed pay more in taxes than we Americans, however he failed to address the fact that we pay enormous insurance premiums, then deductibles and co-pays and expensive presription drugs.

Those costs could well offset what Canadians pay in taxes. And even with insurance, a major medical emergency can bankrupt a family. And if the good doctor will kindly reread my earlier post, nowhere did I advocate adopting the system of our neigbors to the North. I'm simply making comparisons.
