I did not realize how bad the Butler School District was until my son went to Carnegie Mellon. He took all the AP classes he could take, and yet he was so far behind the other students, he was embarrassed! It took him a year just to get caught up to his roommate from New Jersey. A very large number of CMU students are from other countries, they were all ahead of him at the beginning of the school year, so if I sound bitter, I guess I am.

My son was admitted into one of the best colleges in the world, so that should prove that he was an excellent student in high school, yet I feel our public school system failed him.
