11:32 p.m. Monday — Brooke F. Smith, 20, of Lyndora and a 17-year-old boy of Philadelphia were arrested in Butler Memorial Park after police found them in possession of drugs.Smith and the teen were in a parked car after the park was closed. When police investigated the car, they found numerous drugs in the vehicle.The teen faces felony charges for possession with intent to sell heroin and crack cocaine, as well as other misdemeanor charges.Smith was charged with possession of heroin and a small amount of marijuana.
12:11 a.m. Friday — Ashley Sherkosky, 21, of Butler crashed into a car driven by Amanda Bayne, 23, also of Butler after she failed to stop for a flashing red light on New Castle Road at Butler Crossing.Sherkosky was cited for the signal violation.5:47 p.m. Thursday — One man was injured following a three-car accident on Route 422 near Greenwood Drive.Justin Angerett, 21, of Butler was driving west on Route 422 when his vehicle struck the back of a parked car occupied by Tyler Irvine, 30, of Butler.Irvine's car was pushed into a vehicle driven by Kenneth Kastelic, 77, also of Butler.Irvine was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital with injuries and all three vehicles were towed from the scene.11:49 a.m. Monday — John McClure, 31, of Prospect was charged with retail theft after he stole a Dyson vacuum cleaner from Walmart.The store's security witnessed McClure walk out of the store with the vacuum and drive away in his car.A witness was able to provide the registration of the car, which police used to identify McClure.The value of the vacuum was $449.10:35 p.m. Dec. 22 — Leann Meyers, 50, of Butler and Benjamin Eakin, 33, of Pleasantville were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after police investigated suspicious behavior coming from a car on Bessemer Avenue.Police found a marijuana pipe in the vehicle.
2:30 p.m. Friday — A car driven by David A. Ranelli, 60, of Sharon struck a deer while traveling west along Route 422 near Pleasant Valley Road in Muddy Creek Township.8:52 a.m. Thursday — A 17-year-old female sustained minor injuries after a slippery road caused her car to spin into a guide rail along Interstate 79 in Jackson Township.3:22 a.m. Thursday — Justin L. Herp, 35, of Butler was arrested for a suspected DUI after he was found operating his vehicle in a reckless manner in the parking lot of the Butler Assembly of God Church along Purvis Road in Connoquenessing Township.Herp was charged with DUI and taken to Butler Memorial Hospital for a blood test.11:07 p.m. Tuesday — William F. Desmond II, 47, of Renfrew was charged with simple assault, resisting arrest and harassment after he allegedly shoved a 64-year-old female to the ground, causing her to break her hip, at a Kriess Road home in Connoquenessing Township.6:26 p.m. Tuesday — Timothy R. Surrena, 36, of Harrisville was arrested for suspected DUI and possession of drug paraphernalia after he was involved in a two-car accident on Interstate 79 in Jackson Township. Charges are pending.11:58 a.m. Dec. 20 — Angela M. Lascuola, 33, of Butler was charged with retail theft after she attempted to steal a coffee brewer from Boscov's Department Store at the Clearview Mall.Lascuola took the item off a shelf and attempted to return it for store credit.The brewer was valued at $169.59.
