Butler Police3:18 p.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Jason Haigh, 40, of Vandergrift struck the rear of a car driven by Phillip Abraham, 37, of Butler that was stopped on East Jefferson Street waiting to turn left onto Franklin Street.Wednesday — Nicole Nagowski, 31, of Lyndora was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, accident involving damage to unattended property and abandoning a vehicle on the highway after allegedly hitting a house at 216 Pillow St. on Jan. 22 before fleeing the scene. The impact caused $4,687 worth of damage.

Butler Twp Police4:32 p.m. Monday — A vehicle driven by Sean Farmer, 37, of Butler and a tractor-trailer driven by Wayne Maywood, 58, of North Huntingdon in Westmoreland County collided on Route 422. The accident happened after a teal Saturn turned off Greenwood Drive onto the highway, causing Farmer to swerve. Anyone with information about the Saturn is asked to call police at 724-285-9600.Noon Monday — Matthew Gibson, 31, of Butler was charged with forgery, identity theft and access device fraud after allegedly stealing the credit card information of a township resident and using it to create a Western Union account. He is accused of making a false transaction, picking up $150 from the Kmart in the Pullman Square shopping plaza. Police are searching for Gibson.2:42 p.m. Aug. 25 — Christopher Geibel, 38, of Butler was charged with simple assault, disorderly conduct and harassment for an alleged altercation with an employee at Butler Memorial Hospital.

State Police, Mercer1:17 p.m. Tuesday — A pickup driven by Ronald King, 52, of Sandy Lake was backing out of a driveway while pulling a trailer and stopped, leaving the rear of the trailer sitting on Mercer Street, where it was struck by a car driven by Robert Opitz, age unavailable, also of Sandy Lake, police said. Opitz was flown by medical helicopter to UPMC Hamot in Erie for unspecified injuries. He was discharged Wednesday. King was cited for a traffic violation.7:25 a.m. Tuesday — A car driven by Derian Mills, 19, of Grove City and a car driven by Jessica Buckler, 28, of Pulaski in Lawrence County collided at the intersection of Mercer Grove City and Irishtown roads. Mills was taken by ambulance to the Grove City Medical Center for evaluation of a possible minor injury. Mills was cited for not yielding the right of way coming from a stop sign.

State Police, New CastleSaturday — Adam Closkey reported the theft of a card basket with cards, cash and checks during his wedding at Rustic Acres Farms on Black Road in Plain Grove Township between 7 and 9:30 p.m.Aug. 16 — An unidentified man stole four trail cameras at the rear of 825 McCartney Hollow Road in Perry Township. The stolen cameras were two Cuddeback, one Browning and one Moultrie. Anyone with information is to call 724-598-2211.
