Cindy, glad to see an engineer check in. I worked for a chemical company for thirty one years, the last twenty in cost accounting. I observed the young engineers, (salaried) once assigned a project put in ten hour days and be on call on weekends. They also continue their education in order to stay current with advancing technology.
