I want to commend the county commissioners for making a wise and sound choice in regards to Boscovs. I first heard about this bailout on KDKA radio about a month ago. My personal comment on air was "Why are we bailing out this store chain? Did we do it for Kaufmans, Horns, and many others?" If we loose Boscovs at Clearview it will be a sad day for some, especially for all of the people who made all kinds of special accommodations in order for Boscovs to come to Clearview in the first place. Wasn't a special fire truck purchased or something like that? However, I don't think Penneys or Bon-Ton will be too sad. That is the wonderful thing about retail, if one store closes shoppers will go elsewhere. There are too many other stores that would welcome Boscov's business if they do close their stores.
