1:16 p.m. Wednesday — Tyler D. Smith, 28, of Butler was arrested on a bench warrant at the Butler County Assistance Office on Woody Drive. He was searched and found with two stamp bags and nine empty stamp bags of suspected heroin in his wallet and two used syringes in his pants pocket.Smith was placed in the Butler County Prison on the warrant for a parole violation in connection with a 2011 theft-related case. Additionally, police charged him with possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia.Friday — More than $600 in vandalism damage was discovered at Memorial Park. The sinks and urinal in the men's bathroom near the tennis courts were smashed with rocks. The lights in the grove across from the bathroom also were broken.

7:52 a.m. Tuesday — Vehicles driven by Mihaela R. Stefanova, 23, of Lyndora and Tom Fair, 49, of Renfrew collided at Chesapeake and Main streets in Lyndora. Police cited Stefanova for not obeying traffic control devices.1:29 p.m. Monday — Deloris M. Miller, 66, of Ford City, Armstrong County, was charged with retail theft after she was stopped leaving Kohls at Butler Crossing by the store's security. Police said Miller was caught with $331 worth of unpaid merchandise.6:18 a.m. Monday — Robert R. Saul Jr., 25, of Butler was arrested after a domestic disturbance at a North Duffy Road home. Saul was arraigned on charges of simple assault and harassment and placed in the Butler County Prison on $10,000 bail.

6:10 a.m. Monday — George L. Treich, 55, was arrested after he allegedly held a handgun to his wife's neck and threatened to kill her during a dispute at their home on North Pike Road in Jefferson Township. Deborah Treich, 46, was not hurt.George Treich, who is free on $20,000 bail, is charged with aggravated assault, terroristic threats, simple assault, reckless endangerment and harassment.Deborah Treich later Monday, Butler County Court records show, obtained a temporary protection from abuse order against her husband.Monday — Lazaros A. Sotos, 27, of Cabot was arrested stemming from a 2012 break-in at an apartment on Constitution Avenue in Jefferson Township. Sotos used to live next door to that apartment, according to court documents.The defendant admitted that he had a drinking problem at the time of the break-in, when he stole three or four bottles of liquor.District Judge Sue Haggerty arraigned Sotos on charges of burglary, trespass and theft. He is free on his own recognizance.

12:25 a.m. Saturday — Donald R. Pepler, 66, of Kittanning was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence on Route 268 in West Kittanning.

4:15 p.m. July 16 — Ryan A. Mitchell, 19, of Gibsonia and Michael J. Schroeffel, 42, of Slippery Rock were hurt when vehicles they were driving crashed on Route 108 at Plain Grove Road in Scott Township. Police said Mitchell's car struck the back of Schroeffel's pickup truck.Both drivers, who were wearing seat belts, were taken to Grove City Medical Center with minor injuries. Police said Mitchell was cited for careless driving.
