HARRISBURG, — Gov. Ed Rendell is ordering that all national and state flags in Pennsylvania be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims of the mass shooting in Arizona.

Police say a gunman was trying to assassinate U.S. Rep. Gabrielle Giffords when six people were killed and Giffords and 13 others were wounded Saturday at an event in Tucson.

Rendell says flags should remain at half-staff through sunset on Friday.
