Woman arrested for kicking officer
CRANBERRY TWP — A township woman is jailed on charges she attacked a police officer called to her home on Robinhood Drive for a domestic dispute last week.
Kari Ann Galbreath, 38, is accused of kicking Cranberry Township Patrolman Jeffrey Kobistek, who was not injured.
Police went to Galbreath’s home Nov. 26 for a reported disturbance. The defendant’s boyfriend told police that she was tearing up the house.
Officers found a small amount of blood on the front door when they got there, said Cranberry police Sgt. Chuck Mascellino. Police immediately suspected Galbreath was intoxicated.
Yelling and agitated, she was told to calm down but refused, according to court documents.
“She lunged forward at (Kobistek) and kicked him,” Mascellino said. “He told her to stop and she kicked him again.”
Police arrested the woman, who was later arraigned on charges of aggravated assault, a felony, and disorderly conduct and possession of a controlled substance, both misdemeanors.
Mascellino noted that this was not the first time police have been called to Galbreath’s home. Officers in April responded to a domestic dispute there.
A preliminary hearing for Galbreath, who is in the Butler County Prison on $5,000 bail, is set for 10 a.m. Friday before District Judge Dave Kovach in Cranberry Township.
