I do have egg on my face over the AIG portfolio rumor. They in fact did not and do not insure Congress's pensions. Mea culpa. But the whole sleazy affair doesn't seem to have a quick solution. I personally believe public funds or fiat money have no place in the private corporate world. Businesses must stand and fall on their own merits. Bush made a huge mistake getting the TARP ball rolling, but it was blown to an exponential level by the Dem-led congress. John, my apologies for this factual error.
