Butler Police6:43 p.m. Friday — A car driven by Daniel A. Palermo, 53, of Butler rear-ended a pickup truck in the 400 block of South Main Street near Campbell Street. Moments before the accident, Ashley A. Kacin, 24, of Butler stopped her pickup for pedestrians crossing the road.Police said Palermo was cited for careless driving.5:01 p.m. Friday — Two men riding in a car that reeked of marijuana were caught with suspected drug contraband following a traffic stop on Cecelia Street.Police found Michael A. Christie, 31, of East Butler with a marijuana pipe in his back pack. Timothy Thomas, 40, of Butler had a crack pipe in a coat pocket. Christie and Taylor are both charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.1:17 p.m. Friday — One person was hurt when a van driven by Adam R. Rozic, 30, of Butler Township and a car driven by Michael Loveday collided on Pillow Street at Pullman Park Place.Loveday was taken to Butler Memorial Hospital after complaining of pain to the shoulder, knee and lower back. Police cited Rozic for careless driving.9:47 a.m. Friday — No one was injured in a three-vehicle wreck on West New Castle Street at 13th Avenue. The chain-reaction crash happened when a car driven by Theodore R. Taylor, 52, of Butler rear-ended a car driven by Therese A. Cunningham, 57, of Butler.In turn, Cunningham's vehicle was forced into the back of a car driven by John K. Cingolani, 79, of Butler. Taylor was cited for careless driving.2:10 p.m. Feb. 8 — A runaway wheel from one vehicle struck another vehicle at West New Castle Street and 13th Avenue. No injuries were reported.The freak accident happened when the front driver's side wheel came off a car driven by Levi D. Dellen, 24, of Butler Township. The loose wheel rolled into the oncoming lane and hit a car driven by Norman Lindsey, 76, of Butler Township.Lindsey's car sustained “disabling damage,” a police report said.12:15 p.m. Thursday — Haley R. Dunbar, 19, of Butler allegedly punched and bit her child's father, Brad Cramer, during a domestic dispute at his home in the 400 block of Second Street.Dunbar is accused of punching Cramer twice in the face, jumping on his back and biting him. Police said Cramer suffered bruises, a bite mark and a swollen and cut lip in the attack.Police got an arrest warrant for Dunbar on a charge of simple assault.

Butler Twp PoliceTuesday — Sanya L. Vantassel, 38, of Evans City was charged with giving false information, including a bogus name and date of birth, to police investigating a possible drug overdose Jan. 28 at the Days Inn on Route 8 south.Vantassel is charged with unsworn falsification to authorities, false identification to law enforcement officers, possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana.2:15 p.m. Thursday — Tyler J. McDowell, 18, of Butler was caught with suspected marijuana in his book bag at the Butler County Vocational-Technical School. He is charged with possession of a small amount of marijuana.

Grove City Police6:24 p.m. Friday — Icy road conditions were blamed for an accident that sent a tow truck crashing into a salt truck.Daniel Stoops, 36, of Grove City lost control of the tow truck on ice-covered South Center and West Poplar streets, which sent the vehicle sliding into the borough salt truck driven by Jim Minner, no age given, of Mercer.Neither driver was injured, but the tow truck needed a tow of its own. No charges were issued.

State Police, Butler10:04 p.m. Monday — A car crashed into the median on Interstate 79 in Worth Township. A news release did not identify the driver. The report blamed “heavy snow and ice” on the highway for the accident.5:06 p.m. Sunday — Larry J. Lint, 48, of Parker was hurt when he swerved his pickup truck to avoid a deer and struck a utility pole along East Mercer Street just east of Harmony Grove Lane in Mercer Township. Lint, who was wearing a seat belt, was taken to the Grove City Medical Center with unknown injuries.4:25 p.m. Jan. 15 — Jeremy Combs, 32, of Butler was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of a controlled substance on Sunnyview Circle in Butler Township.

State Police, Kittanning10:56 p.m. Monday — A teenager was hurt when Margaret J. Walker, 53, of Kittanning lost control of her sport utility vehicle and struck a guardrail on Route 422 west just before the West Hills exit in East Franklin Township.A 16-year-old Kittanning girl riding in the vehicle suffered unknown injuries. The girl, who was not wearing a seat belt, was taken to ACMH Hospital in East Franklin Township.2 p.m. Feb. 8 — Someone scattered rubbish in a creek bed along Millen Hollow Road in West Franklin Township. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-543-2011.

State Police, Mercer5:39 p.m. Tuesday — Ricky D. Ayers, 53, of Grove City lost control of his car on the slush and slid into a tree along Millbrook Road in Worth Township, Mercer County. Police cited Ayers for failing to provide identification.
