GolfTEC

GolfTEC of Wexford is celebrating its belated one-year anniversary with a party that's open to the public Aug. 12.

The high-tech golf learning center opened its doors July 29 last year and has continued to grow in popularity ever since.

"People are interested in experiencing positive results from our unique approach to golf instruction, which provides advanced technological feedback and information unavailable anywhere else in Pittsburgh," said Tim Nypaver, director of instruction.

GolfTEC's patented SEVA system allows for fact-based instruction by integrating video, 3-D motion analysis, impact analysis and biofeedback technology. All of GolfTEC's instructors are PGA teaching professionals who offer the perfect blend of expertise and technology to provide the best possible instruction.

"The advanced learning systems are designed to help players of any level reach their golfing goals," said Dan Terlescki, PGA teaching professional.

During GolfTEC lessons, golfers wear sensors that measure their swing, comparing it against a database of more than 150 PGA Tour professionals, allowing the instructor to scientifically analyze and help improve a player's mechanics. This fact-based instruction helps golfers permanently change inconsistent swing faults.

GolfTEC's motion-analysis equipment measures what can't be seen with the human eye or even the most sophisticated video. In addition, biofeedback tones (beeps) are set to help a player learn the exact ranges of motion involved with new swing movements.

GolfTEC's staff of PGA teaching professionals works to develop greater levels of consistency, power and reliability for its clients, which helps players get the most from their improved skills.

All of this information is converted into a "Weblesson" that the student can access online any time to review the techniques. Clients also use video technology during practice sessions, dramatically increasing the effectiveness of practice time.

In addition to the full-swing instruction, GolfTEC provides training for short game and playing lessons, as well as expert club fitting (irons/driver/putter) for all major brands.

The Wexford Learning Center is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday and Friday, from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday and Sunday.
