PITTSBURGH - The Pittsburgh Penguins will open their first training camp in two years - and No. 1 draft pick Sidney Crosby's first in the NHL - on Sept. 13 at Mellon Arena.

The Penguins stay in town for a week before shifting workouts Sept. 20-25 to Wilkes-Barre, Pa., home of their top farm club. They will play two preseason games there, against Boston on Sept. 21 and Ottawa on Sept. 24.

Two exhibition games are set for Mellon Arena, Sept. 27 against Columbus and Oct. 2 against Washington. Road exhibition games are Sept. 19 at Columbus, Sept. 23 against Ottawa in Binghamton, N.Y., Sept. 25 against Washington in Hershey, Pa., Sept. 29 in Ottawa and Sept. 30 in Washington.

The Penguins have not yet disclosed where they will practice during the season when Mellon Arena is not available. During the NHL lockout season a year ago, the Penguins ended their longtime affiliation with the rink at the Southpointe residential-business complex in Washington County.
