The Butler boys gymnastics team recently brought home eight state championships from the state meet held at Penn State University.

Butler's level 9 and 10 teams placed second in the state in team competition, the level 10 team losing a first-place tiebreaker to Artistics Gymnastics from Harrisburg.

Chad Wiest, a Moniteau senior headed to the University of Illinois on a gymnastics scholarship, won the level 10 (ages 16-18) state title in all-around with a score of 53.80. He was also state champion on parallel bars with a 9.3.

Dusty Cranmer, a Seneca Valley senior headed to the University of Iowa on a gymnastics scholarship, was state champion on floor with a 9.5 and on the pommel horse with a 9.0. He was third all-around with a 51.90.

Cody Carnahan, a Karns City senior headed to Penn State to compete in gymnastics, placed sixth all-round with a 49.10.

In level 10 (ages 14-15), Mac Lewis won the state title on floor with an 8.7. In level 9 (ages 12-13), J.B. Kolod won the state title on vault with a 9.45 and was second all-around with a 48.20.

In level 6 (ages 8-9), Levi Cetti was state champion on floor with a 9.3 and was third all-around with a 54.55. In level 5 (ages 10-up), Peter Flory was state champion on floor with a 9.3.
