LEWISBURG — The Seneca Valley girls 400 freestyle relay team placed fourth at the PIAA Class AAA swimming championships Thursday at Bucknell University, breaking the school record in the process.

The quartet of Emily Wolfarth, Julie Titley, Abby Myers and Rose Snyder finished with a time of 3 minutes, 31.73 seconds. The old record was 3:32.79.

"I'm very happy with the performance," said SV coach Tom Donati. "We come out here and drop six seconds from our time at WPIALs, break the school record — it was a great way for (seniors) Rose Snyder and Emily Wolfarth to go out."

Hershey won the 400 freestyle relay with a time of 3:28.54.

Butler's Heath Calhoun capped a strong sophomore season by placing fifth in the boys diving event with a score of 425.40.

Other results included:

• Myers managed a 14th- place finish in the 100 freestyle (52.58), while Snyder was 16th in the same event (52.78).

• Wolfarth was 18th in the 500 freestyle (5:10.86).
