Cranberry man chairs state board
A Butler County native has been named chair of the state board responsible for disciplining attorneys.
Douglas Leonard of Cranberry Township is the new chairman of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, the organization announced Thursday.
Leonard had served as one of the nonlawyers on the board since 2008 and was vice chairman since April.
The disciplinary board was founded in 1972 and has 13 members — 11 attorneys and two other state residents. It is funded by annual assessments paid by attorneys licensed to practice in the state.
The board assists the Supreme Court in all matters involving attorney licensing and discipline.
Leonard is director of consulting services for iMapSolutions and has served as executive administrator of the Allegheny County Court and a board member and president of the Pennsylvania Association of Court Management.
