Police sting nets man in juvenile sex case

A Neshannock Township, Lawrence County, man pleaded guilty Thursday to traveling to Cranberry Township to have sex with a minor.

Bradley R. Moore, 44, pleaded guilty to one count of travel with intent to engage in illicit sexual conduct before U.S. Judge Arthur Schwab, U.S. Attorney Scott Brady announced.

Moore allegedly responded to a Craigslist ad and had email and phone conversations with an undercover officer. They allegedly arranged a meeting at a Freedom Road hotel where he believed he would have sex with a 12-year-old boy.

Cranberry Township police worked with the state Attorney General’s Bureau of Special Investigations’ Child Predator Section on the investigation, according to the criminal complaint.

Sentencing is scheduled for June. The law provides for a maximum sentence of 30 years and a fine of $250,000.

This case was brought as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative to combat the growing epidemic of child sexual exploitation and abuse launched in May 2006 by the Department of Justice. For more information, visit projectsafechildhood.gov.
