A section of Dinnerbell Road in Jefferson Township has been closed “immediately” to facilitate repair on the Bessemer railroad tunnel near the Victory Road intersection. Work on the tunnel repair is expected to continue through Oct. 16. Work is weather-dependent.

During the tunnel repair, Dinnerbell Road will be closed between the Victory and Frazier road intersections.

To detour from the west side, drivers turn left from Dinnerbell Road onto Route 8, then make a left onto Route 228, then another left onto Saxonburg Boulevard, then another left onto West Main Street before finally turning right onto Dinnerbell Road. Repeat those steps in reverse for drivers detouring from the east side.

The tunnel repair will be carried out by Sitar Construction.
