Business people in downtown Butler on Tuesday can learn about visual merchandising at a workshop sponsored by the Pennsylvania Downtown Center and Butler Downtown.

Rick Viglioine, Pennsylvania Downtown Center western region coordinator, will talk about merchandising at the 8:30 a.m. meeting at the Butler County Chamber of Commerce office.

The goal of the workshop is to have business people understand visual merchandising and the role of the Main Street Program, to provide resources for technical assistance, and to help businesses conduct a visual merchandising audit.

The cost is $5 per person but free for 2010 financial donors of Butler Downtown.

Chelynne Kramer, Butler Downtown promotion committee chairwoman, said in a news release, "Our promotions committee plans to continue offering a series of educational workshops for our downtown businesses on various topics."
