William E. Schnelzer, 70, a 12-year resident of Watson Road in Harrisville, formerly of Pittsburgh, died Sunday at the Oakland Veterans Affairs Medical Center after a two-year illness.

Born in Pittsburgh, Oct. 13, 1936, he was the son of Louis and Anna Eagle Schnelzer.

He had been was a letter carrier in the Mount Oliver section of Pittsburgh, retiring in 1992 after 27 years. He was a member of the National Association of Letter Carriers.

Mr. Schnelzer was a member of St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Forestville.

He was a Navy veteran, obtained the rank of an E3 and served on the USS Ranger.

Surviving are his wife, Lisa J. Schnelzer of Pittsburgh; three sons, William Jr., Paul and Adam Schnelzer, all of Pittsburgh; and a sister and brother, Laverne and Ronald Schnelzer, both of Harrisville.

He was preceded in death by two sisters and two brothers.

Main St., Harrisville. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at noon Thursday at St. Anthony Roman Catholic Church, Forestville, with Rev.
