Shirley S. Smith, 77, of Tionesta, formerly of West Monterey, Clarion County, died Thursday at her home.

Born June 27, 1930, in Clarion, she was the daughter of Arthur L. and Susanna C. Bartley Womeldorf.

She was a real estate agent and a legal secretary.

Mrs. Smith enjoyed the theater and directed and acted in several plays. She loved bird watching and was a Methodist.

Surviving are her husband, Donn J. Smith, whom she married July 15, 1951, in Brookville; two sons, Gregory A.E. Smith of Penn Hills and Glenn A.E. Smith and his wife, Robin, of St. James City, Fla.; two granddaughters, Noel and Kelly Rose, and a grandson, Cody, all of Murrayville; two step-grandchildren, Jonathan and Jessica Hendricks, and two step-great-grandchildren, Triston and Skylee, all of South Carolina; two brothers, James Womeldorf and his wife, Jerry, of Clarion and Lanny Womeldorf of New Derry; and several nieces and nephews.

<B>SMITH </B>— There will be no public visitation. All services for Shirley S. Smith, who died Thursday, Sept. 13, 2007, will be private.Arrangements are under the direction of the <B>Norman J. Wimer Funeral Home</B>, Tionesta.
