Elizabeth Jane Alfreno Scheiwe

Elizabeth Jane Alfreno Scheiwe of Fort Wayne, Ind., formerly of Blom Road, Grove City, died Saturday at the Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home, Fort Wayne.

She was born in West Sunbury to Horace and Marian Hockenberry

Mrs. Scheiwe retired from George Junior Republic, Grove City.

She was a member of the Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City and a past member of the Pine Township Zoning Board in Mercer County. She also was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Sweet Adeline Chorus in Indiana.

She is survived by her husband Ralph; two sons, Stephen Alfreno and his wife, Shirley, of North Las Vegas, Nev., and Terry Alfreno of Grove City; three grandsons Sean, Jason and Matthew Alfreno; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Conner; four stepsons; and a stepdaughter.

She was preceded in death by her first husband of 50 years, F. Eugene Alfreno, who died in 2001, and a sister, Jean Gauf.

<B>Scheiwe</B> — Friends of Elizabeth Jane Alfreno Scheiwe, who died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City, with a vigil service at 2:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Friday, at the Church of the Beloved Disciple, Grove City. Burial will follow at the St. Anthony Cemetery, Harrisville.
