Anna MacKinney

Anna Marie MacKinney, 91, of Newhaven Court in Center Township died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at Newhaven.

Born Jan. 29, 1916, in Butler, she was the daughter of Mont Mercer MacKinney and Anna Marie Beck MacKinney.

Miss MacKinney had been a teacher at the Emily Brittain Elementary School.

She was a member of the Hill United Presbyterian Church and the Butler Chapter of the Eastern Star, and she was a benefactor of the Butler Public Library.

She enjoyed traveling and reading.

Surviving are two sisters, Jean Alice MacKinney of Butler and Sarah "Sally" Root of Tucson, Ariz.; eight nephews, John J. MacKinney Jr. of Thomasville, Ga., Norm Herz of Littleton, Colo., Paul Herz of Dallas, Texas, Scott Herz of Quakertown, Jake Root of Tucson, Ariz., Bob Moore of West Chester and Mont and George MacKinney, both of Butler; five nieces, Sally Butler of Tucson, Pat Farrell of Lombard, Ill., Karen Adami of Fleetwood, Madeline Hughes of Mount Holly, N.J., and Sara Mehagan of Montpelier, Vt.; a great-nephew, Roy Gruenburg of Warren, Mich.; and two great-nieces, Dawn Gruenburg of Warren, Mich., and Gail Gruenburg of Chesterfield, Mich.

<B>MACKINNEY </B>— Friends of Anna Marie MacKinney, who died Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2007, will be received from 9 to 11 .am. Friday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St. Services will follow at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with the Rev. Clark Sawyer, her church pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at the North Side Cemetery.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Butler Public Library, 218 N.
