Nellie Catherine "Kay" Rockenstein was born Dec. 7, 1917, as one of eight children, four brothers and three sisters, to Harry and Jessie Smith in Liberty Township. She died Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, at the age of 89.

In 1936, she married Chalmers Rockenstein and gave life to one son, Kenneth Rockenstein.

She is survived by her son, Kenneth Rockenstein and his wife, Carmen; one sister, Pat Fickes and her husband, Joe; three grandchildren, Mary Fortson and her husband, Tim, Nancy Dandy and her husband, Joe, and John Rockenstein; four great-grandchildren; and six step great-grandchildren.

<B>ROCKENSTEIN</B> — Visitation for Nellie Catherine "Kay" Rockenstein, who died on Saturday, Sept. 15, 2007, was on Tuesday. Funeral services were Wednesday in the chapel of <B>Kingwood Funeral Home, </B>Kingwood, Texas, with the Rev. Milton Pool officiating.
