Florence W. Ward Keefer, 86, of Buffalo Township died Sunday at Concordia Lutheran Ministries, Jefferson Township.

Born in Brackenridge, Aug. 4, 1921, she was the daughter of Bayliss and Ruth Eastland Ward.

Mrs. Keefer was a past member of the Freeport United Methodist Church. When she and her husband moved to Florida in 1988, she joined the Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church.

She was a homemaker and was instrumental in the creation of the Meals on Wheels program in Freeport.

She graduated summa cum laude in 1970 from the Butler County Community College in computer studies. She obtained her real estate license and worked for the Baliki Agency in Buffalo Township.

She was a past worthy matron of the Eastern Star. Her hobbies were sewing and reading, and she was an avid Internet user.

Surviving are a daughter, Sharon (John) Randall of Webster, N.Y.; a son, Lawrence (Lisa) Keefer of Buffalo Township; a daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Keefer and a granddaughter Deborah (Lester) Cole of Nashville, Tenn., and her three daughters.

Her husband, James Keefer Sr., died in 1998. She also was preceded in death by her sons, James Jr. and Paul Keefer, who died in 2007 and 1980, respectively.

<B>KEEFER</B> — A memorial service for Florence W. Ward Keefer, who died Sunday, Sept. 23, 2007, will be announced later. The family will have a private burial service at the Mt.
