Acting U.S. Attorney named for district
Stephen R. Kaufman is named Acting U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania effective Monday, according to an announcement from the Department of Justice. Kaufman will be replacing U.S. Attorney Scott Brady, who announced his resignation Friday.
Kaufman previously was Brady’s First Assistant. In this position, Kaufman will lead a staff of nearly 130 employees representing the United States in courts throughout Pennsylvania’s western 25 counties, including staffed offices in Pittsburgh, Erie and Johnstown.
Kaufman previously served as First Assistant U.S. Attorney beginning in April 2018.
