Jim Reader II

Jim Reader II, 60, of Fombell lost his battle with cancer on Thursday. He went home to be with his Lord peacefully, surrounded by family and friends at his home.

Born June 30, 1947, in New Brighton, he was the son of Jim and Janet Reader of Zelienople.

Mr. Reader was the owner and operator of L&R Glass in Zelienople. Along with his wife, Nancy, he went on to own and operate Hearth & Home Furnishings in Zelienople.

Jim was a borough councilman for Zelienople from 1994 to 1995.

He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and mowing grass.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Nancy C. Reader, who he married Jan. 31, 1970; two daughters, Megan Murphy and her husband, Jim, of Portersville, and Laura McDaid and her husband, Justin, of Prospect; his brother, John Reader and his wife, Cathryn, of New Brighton; a step- grandson, Jake Murphy; his dog, Riley; and two grand-dogs, Buddy and Petey. Also surviving are two nephews and a niece.

<B>Reader</B> — Friends of Jim Reader II, who died on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2007, will be received from 5 to 9 p.m. today at <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B>, 324 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople and from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Calvin Presbyterian Church, 415 E. Grandview Ave., Zelienople, where funeral services will follow at 1 p.m. Saturday with the Rev. Dr. N. Graham Standish, church pastor, officiating.
