Eagles run to 30-12 win

The dynamic duo were at it again.

Grove City's running tandem of Chris Clark and Dwayne Martin combined for 289 yards and three touchdowns as the Eagles rolled to a 30-12 win over region foe Northwestern in high school football action Friday night.

The game was moved from the muck at Forker Field to the new FieldTurf at Grove City College, and Clark and Martin took advantage of it.

Clark rushed for 167 yards on 15 carries and a 57-yard TD.

Martin gained 122 yards on 12 attempts and two touchdowns.

The Eagles (5-3, 4-1) held a 16-6 lead at halftime, then roared ahead 30-6 with two touchdowns in the fourth quarter.

Grove City plays at Greenville next week. A win, and the Eagles will almost assure themselves one of the eight spots in the District 10 Class AA playoffs. A loss, and a playoff berth would be precarious.

Clarion-Limestone 12, Union 7 — The Golden Knights outgained the Lions 241-200, but turnovers doomed Union.Union quarterback Zach Himes rushed for a 1-yard score late in the fourth quarter, but also threw three interceptions.ColbyDavis rushed for 84 yards on 20 carries for Union. Himes had 74 yards on 14 attempts.Brett Moore caught five passes for 51 yards for Union, which will play undefeated Karns City on the road next week.
