[naviga:h3]3 doctors to lead Butler Health System[/naviga:h3]

Three doctors have been appointed to leadership roles at Butler Health System this week.

Dr. Brandon Repko has been named medical director for Nuclear Imaging and Therapeutic Services. Repko has been a member of the BMH medical staff since 2010. He is board certified in radiology.

Dr. Kirti Sharma has been named medical director for the Hospitalist Medicine Program. Sharma has been a member of the BMH medical and hospitalist staffs for more than five years. She is board certified in internal medicine.

Dr. Munir Elawar has been named medical director for Stroke and Neurology. Elawar has been a member of the BMH medical staff in the Department of Medicine for almost 25 years.

[naviga:h3]Another award for Brayman Construction [/naviga:h3]

SAXONBURG — Brayman Construction Corp. received the American Segmental Bridge Institute's 2017 Bridge Award of Excellence in the category of long span and cable-stayed bridges for their role in the Oakley C. Collins Memorial Bridge, which connects southern Ohio and northeastern Kentucky.

The company shares the award with the project owner, the Ohio Department of Transportation.

The new structure opened Nov. 23, 2016. The bridge is 2,616 feet long and features a 900-foot, cable-stayed main span, which is now the longest concrete span ODOT has ever built.

[naviga:h3]Dollar General opens in Slippery Rock[/naviga:h3]

SLIPPERY ROCK — A new Dollar General store at 324 Franklin St. was set to open at 8 a.m. Saturday.

Additionally, the first 50 adult shoppers were to receive a $10 Dollar General gift card and the first 200 shoppers were to receive a Dollar General tote bag with complimentary product samples, among other giveaways.

[naviga:h3]Bank donates golf challenge winnings[/naviga:h3]

MARS — A team of golfers from Mars National Bank is donating $4,000 in winnings to the Community Health Clinic of Butler County.

The golfers won the 2017 Bankers Challenge Golf Challenge organized by the Butler County Tourism & Convention Bureau in September, which allocates raised funds to a charity of the winner's choice.

“We are honored to support the Community Health Clinic of Butler County,” said Jim Dionise, Mars Bank president and CEO. “They provide much needed medical care to individuals and families in our community who lack access to the health care system.”
