Harold R. Spangler Jr.

Harold R. Spangler Jr., 80, of Spring Valley, Ohio, died Dec. 25, 2007, at the Hospice of Dayton in Ohio.

Born April 2, 1927, in Forward, he was the son of Happie Mabel Hough Spangler and Harold Ray Spangler Sr.

He served his country in the Navy and was the former owner of Harold Spangler Inc., where he was a painting contractor.

Mr. Spangler was a member of the Masonic Lodge 737, West Carrollton, Ohio; the Scottish Rite Valley of Dayton; and VFW Post 219, Evans City; and he was a former member of the Fraternal Order of Police and the VFW Post of West Carrollton.

Harold is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Mary Ellen Spangler; three daughters, Rae Ann and her husband, Steve Payne, Karen and her husband, Howard Updyke and Cheryl Clark; two sons, Harold Spangler III and Brian Smith; 12 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and a brother, Sheldon, and his wife, Erma Spangler.

He was preceded in death by a brother, Bennett Spangler, and two grandsons, Shane Parker and Travis Clark.

<B>SPANGLER</B> — Friends of Harold R. Spangler Jr., who died Tuesday, Dec. 25, 2007, will be received from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Conner & Koch Funeral Home</B>, 92 W.
