Rose E. Hays
Rose E. Hays, 92, of Mars died Thursday morning at LAS St. John Specialty Care Center in Mars.
Born in Marshall Township, Allegheny County, Sept. 4, 1915, she was the daughter of Steven and Anna Ferchak Hornick.
She was a member of St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars.
Mrs. Hays had worked at St. John Lutheran Home in Mars nearly 30 years before retiring in 1998 at the age of 83.
Surviving are two daughters, Betty Lowicki and her husband, Casey, of Allison Park, and Debra A. Eiler of Mars; a granddaughter, Debra A. Myers and her husband, Keith; and a brother, Raymond Hornick and his wife, Mary, of Mars.
Her husband, Chalmer F. Hays, whom she married Oct. 9, 1936, died Jan. 20, 1981. She also was preceded in death by a sister and six brothers.
<B>HAYS </B>— Friends of Rose E. Hays, who died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2008, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at <B>McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home</B>, 238 Crowe Ave., Mars. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Kilian Roman Catholic Church in Mars with the Rev. Charles Bober officiating.
