Kenneth Blaine Barlett, 92, of Bruin, went to be with the Lord early Monday morning, Aug. 31, 2026, at Butler Memorial Hospital while surrounded by his loving family.

Kenneth was born in Clarion Feb. 27, 1934. He was the son of the late Harold S. and Katherine Kribbs Barlett.

He was a 1953 graduate of Bruin High School. Ken retired from Trinity Industries, formerly Pullman Standard, and was the maintenance “Mr. Fix It” manager for his son’s business, Jeffrey B. Barlett Masonry, for nearly 40 years. He loved to keep busy, working on the family farm, and always enjoyed helping others and the company of his faithful companion, Chipper.

Kenny loved to hunt and fish and especially enjoyed fishing in Canada and Missouri.

He was a 69-year member and longtime elder of the North Washington Presbyterian Church. Ken was a longtime Mason, a 50-year member, and past Master of the Parker Allegheny Canby Lodge No. 521 F&AM in Parker, and belonged to the Consistory Valley of New Castle. Ken served on the board of directors for the Chicora International Order of the Rainbow for Girls. He was a U.S. Army veteran and served in Alaska during the Korean War and was a member of the Dierken Ritzert American Legion Post No. 642, in Chicora, where he was honored by being named the Legionnaire of the Year. He was a member of the National Rifle Association and the Bruin School Alumni.

He is survived by his wife, Rosemary L. Young Barlett, whom he married in Greenfield on April 5, 1957; a daughter, Cathy Ritter of O’Fallon, Mo.; two sons, Jeffrey Barlett and his wife, Cyann, of Bruin, and Randy Barlett and his wife, Sandra, of Butler. He was affectionately “Grandpa” to five grandchildren, David, Brad, Kristina, Trisha and Ryan; and “Papa Ken” to 11 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two sisters, Marilyn and Maxine, of New Bethlehem, Pa.; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Ken was preceded in death by a brother, Alvin Barlett; a sister, Leanore Trares; his brothers-in-law, C. Jerry Brown and Richard Jordan; a sister-in-law, Sarah Barlett; and a son-in-law, Michael B. Ritter.

BARLETT — Family and friends of Kenneth Blaine Barlett, who died Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, will be received from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 10, at HILE FUNERAL HOME OF CHICORA, 339 Chicora Fenelton Road, Chicora.

Members of the Parker Allegheny Canby Masonic Lodge No. 521 F&AM will conduct a memorial service for their departed brother at 6:45 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 11, at the funeral home with the Rev. Dennis Barger, family friend and pastor of the Scrubgrass Stone Church in Emlenton, officiating.

Military honors will be accorded by members of the Chicora and Bradys Bend American Legion posts at 10:45 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Interment will be in Mount Varnum Cemetery in North Washington.

Memorial contributions in Mr. Barlett’s name may be made to the North Washington Presbyterian Church, Building Fund and Improvements, 714 Fairview Road, North Washington, PA 16048.
