William P. Hetrick
In memory of my beloved father, William P. Hetrick, who entered eternal rest on April 17, 1978
How can it be that thirty years have passed when I can still so vividly see you, feel your warmth and breathe your scent? After all this time, I still think of myself as "Daddy's girl."
The day you left was one of the most horrible days I've experienced...my Daddy was gone! Throughout my life, I have learned that men like you come far and few between. You inspired me so much in the twenty six years that I was honored to have you here on earth! I hold tightly onto the memories of love you left me with. They are tucked away deep within my heart. When you were created, God really did break the mold!
You had so much love for Mommy, your children and grandchildren. I'm now honored to relate to your great-grandchildren what a wonderful man you were. As long as I'm alive, you live on because your blood runs through my veins. I'm so proud to be your daughter!
You left behind so many special people namely your son-in-law Ben who you thought the world of; nieces who loved you like a father; other relatives who adored you; friends and neighbors who respected you, especially your beloved George who you loved like a son. We all reminisce about what a dear soul you were. Who could forget your commendable disposition, humorous personality, impish grin and mainly your exceptional loving, caring heart? I'm elated when people comment on what an admirable Daddy I was blessed with. No one knows that better than me.
You are still my shining star! To this day when I look up at a quiet, nighttime sky, one exceptionally bright star stands out from the others, and I know that you're watching over me!
It's a consolation to me that Mommy and now your son Billy are with you in Heaven. Sweet Jesus, please wrap your arms around my Daddy, and embrace him with your gracious love he so deserves!
I'll continue to love you until I leave earth to join you and once again be "Daddy's girl!"
