Alvin R. Rape
Alvin R. Rape, 85, of Grove City died at 3:39 a.m. Wednesday at Grove City Medical Center after a long illness.
Born in Fombell, May 19, 1922, he was a son of Albert H. Rape and Jennie H. McDunna.
He retired from U.S. Steel, Ellwood City, where he was a machine operator for 33½ years.
Mr. Rape was a Protestant.
During World War II, he served with the Army in the 104th Infantry "Timber Wolves" Division. He was a member of the National V.F.W. and the National American Legion.
He married Alice M. Hecker Dickson, who survives. Also surviving are two children, Jennie Rape of Harrisville and Bonnie K. Brown and her husband, Bruce, of East Palestine, Ohio; a brother, Melvin Eugene Rape and his wife, Arlene, of Zelienople; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three children, Alvin, Shirley A. and Timothy Rape; and a brother, Elmer Rape.
<B>RAPE</B> — Memorial services for Alvin R. Rape, who died Wednesday, March 19, 2008, will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave, Grove City, with the Rev. G. Kenton Shaw, of Wayside Community Church of Findley Township, officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Memorial Park, Pine Township, Mercer County.
