PARADING IN THE PAST
Penny Cahall drives a small tractor pulling an unidentified tot in a baby stroller in the Mars Independence Day parade on July 4, 1972. The entry won first prize in the novelty float division. This year, the borough will celebrate with a bike parade for children at 5 p.m. Sunday, followed by a fireman's parade at 6 p.m. A free light meal will be provided in downtown Mars. Fireworks will be set off at 10 p.m. on Reservoir Hill.
