FOXBURG — A-C Valley won the opening coin toss and everything went downhill from there.

Visiting Clarion rolled up 400 yards of offense and limited the host Falcons to 40 while posting a 43-0 football victory Friday night.

In the first few minutes of the game, A-CValley suffered a sack of quarterback Michael Orrvick, several incomplete passes, a penalty before a snap and a safety when punter Luke Walker was tackled in the end zone.

The Bobcats (1-1) continued their romp over the Falcons when Dan Walters handed the ball to Cody Renninger for a 5-yard touchdown with 7:33 remaining in the first quarter.

The second quarter started with a penalty on Clarion for an illegal block after a Walker punt.

Starting at the A-C Valley 35- yard line, the Bobcats marched down the field to a touchdown by Jon Kemmer, who also kicked the PAT with 8:28 left in the first half.

Clarion's defense held the Falcons to a three-and-out and the visitors took possession of the ball again. Despite a holding penalty, the Bobcats scored again on a 54-yard rush by Corbin Ragley.

The Falcons defense worked hard to hold the Bobcats, but Clarion scored again on Walters' 5-yard quarterback keeper, giving it a 29-0 lead at halftime.

The Bobcats were still hungry in the second half and scored twice in the third quarter. Bubba Rue scored on an 8-yard run with 7:12 remaining in the period. As time ran down, Lewis Armstrong broke a tackle and spun out to a 38-yard run for a touchdown and the score reached 43-0.

After a relatively quiet fourth quarter, with some good passing and rushing by the Falcons, Clarion had the victory.

Bobcats coach Larry Wiser, said the team "stayed with the script."

Though he was not happy with his squad's seven penalties for 65 yards, he said the Bobcats are "getting comfortable in their own skin."

"Despite the score of the game, our team was improved from last week," A-C Valley coach Gary Pinkerton said. "We must play every down. Giving up the big plays buries us."
