Raymond Birckbichler, 32, of Morris Street in South New Castle died Monday afternoon at his home.

Born May 10, 1975, in Butler, he was a son of Richard Birckbichler of Karns City and the late Elaine Gillisippie Birckbichler.

He was a self-employed auto mechanic for years.

Mr. Birckbichler enjoyed fishing and was a member of the Eagles Club and the Italian Miners Society of Karns City.

In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife, Melody (Rae) Birckbichler, whom he married July 25, 1998; a son, Nicholaus Birckbichler of South New Castle, two brothers, Theodore Birckbichler of Huey and Douglas Birckbichler of Pittsburgh; and a sister, Amber Birckbichler of Karns City.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, William P. Birckbichler.
