Joel Virgil Kelly

Joel Virgil Kelly, 69, Mercer Township's Forestville section, died Friday at UPMC Presbyterian, where he had been since Tuesday after a one-week illness.

Born Aug. 23, 1939, in New Castle, he was the son of Virgil C. and Marian Eleanor Johnson Kelly.

He lived in Forestville since 1947.

He retired after 30 years with the Pennsylvania National Guard, Grove City Unit, and he was formerly employed by the former National Castings Co. in Sharon.

He was a member of the Forestville United Methodist Church.

He was a graduate of Slippery Rock High School, Class of 1957. He had a passion and enjoyed roller skating and playing the organ.

He is survived by a brother, Dr. Donald Kelly and wife, Dianna Kelly, of Grove City; two nephews, Donald L. Kelly, of Chernobyl, Ukraine, and Todd G. Kelly of Denver, Colo.; a niece, Samantha Kelly of Grove City; three great-nieces and three great-nephews.

<B>KELLY</B> — Funeral services for Joel Virgil Kelly, who died Friday, May 2, 2008, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at the Forestville United Methodist Church with the Rev. Thomas Carr officiating.Friends will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the <B>Cunningham Funeral Home</B>, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City.Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery, Harrisville.Memorial tributes may be made to the Forestville United Methodist Church, P.O.
