Hines Ward, developer team up for new eatery
SEVEN FIELDS — The developer of Hines Ward’s Table 86 said he can’t wait for the new restaurant to open and become part of the community and Butler County.
Howard Shiller, a restaurateur in Florida, confirmed that he and Ward have finalized leases to open a restaurant and companion wine bar in the space previously occupied by SiBA and BOhem along Route 228.
Shiller, who also separately operates restaurants affiliated with former NFL football players Jerome Bettis and Eddie George, said he hopes to have Table 86 open by the end of July or early August.
He also hopes to open a wine bar called VINES by Hines Ward at the same time.
The restaurant will be in the previous SiBA location while the wine bar will be in the previous BOhem spot.
Ward, who lives in Atlanta but still has ties to the area, will be a frequent presence at the restaurant, Shiller said.
He said, “Being associated with Hines Ward is an honor. He’s such a well-respected Steeler after playing 14 years here and being the Super Bowl MVP. We’re both really looking forward to this new venture.”
Shiller said Table 86 will have a sports element to the interior décor, but “when you walk in, you know you’re walking into a beautiful restaurant.”
He added the wine bar will be a “Napa Valley-style” establishment with medium-priced selections.
Shiller said, “We’re looking forward to being part of the community in Seven Fields and Butler County, and we’re ready to go.”
Seven Fields manager Tom Smith said he’s been excited about the restaurant and wine bar opening ever since he found out about Ward’s interest in the area.
“This is an excellent opportunity and quite an attraction for our community,” he said. “We’re very excited for them to open up as soon as possible.”
Smith noted that the former SiBA restaurant closed around Christmas because the owner wanted to retire, not because of any financial concerns.
