Woman killed in fatal crash in Venango Township
A 36-year-old Boyers woman died Thursday, Aug. 27, in a fatal head-on crash in Venango Township, according to state police.
Amanda E. Montgomery was identified as the woman killed when the GMC Acadia she was a passenger in crossed into the opposite lane of travel and collided with a Ford F-150XLT just before 4 p.m. in the area of 318 Eau Claire Road.
Police said Montgomery was not wearing a seat belt.
The Acadia was driven by a 17-year-old girl from Boyers who was flown by AHN LifeFlight to UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh with injuries of unknown severity.
Rebecca L. Rodgers, 50, of Slippery Rock, was driving the Ford, police said. She and a 3-year-old boy passenger were transported to AHN Grove City Hospital with injuries of unknown severity.
State police were assisted by Superior Ambulance Service, Emlenton Area Ambulance Service, AHN Critical Care Unit 956, AHN LifeFlight, Eau Claire Volunteer Fire Department and the Emlenton Fire Department. The Butler County Coroner’s Office also responded.
The crash is still under investigation.
