Helen Ivey, 85, of Sunnyview Home, formerly of Butler died at 4:45 p.m. Friday

Born Dec. 18, 1922, in Odenville, Ala., she was the daughter of Carl Ash and Edith Jones Ash.

Mrs. Ivey was a homemaker. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and being with her family.

She is survived by a daughter, Melba Engel of Butler; two grandchildren, Rene Engel of Butler, and Kimberly Alexander of Portland, Ore.; two great-grandchildren; a brother, Robert Ash; and three sisters, Lois Holbert, Betty Champion and Judy Rawlings, all of Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by one infant son, one daughter and one brother.
