COLUMBUS, Ohio — Zach Hall scored on a breakaway and goalie Timothy White earned a shutout in his first start of the season Tuesday as the Slippery Rock University men's soccer team defeated Ohio Dominican 1-0.

Ohio Dominican (7-3-0) was ranked third in the Midwest Region by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America entering the game.

Hall, a freshman, scored his second goal of the season in the game's 66th minute.

White subbed for All-American keeper Greg Blum and recorded four saves.

Ohio Dominican had advantages of 12-6 on total shots, 4-2 in shots on goal and 9-1 in corner kicks on the day.

The Rock (8-2-1) hosts Ashland (Ohio) at 4 p.m. Friday at Egli Field.
