Doughnut shop for sale
Though it may be listed for sale, the Freedom Farms Donut Shop’s owners hope it will be operated by people who care.
The doughnut store was listed for sale at $430,000, and described as the “perfect investment,” but isn’t for sale to just anyone.
“We do have interest in potentially selling it, but we plan on operating it for the forseeable future until we find the right person for the business,” Tim King, Freedom Farms’ owner, said.
The “right person,” according to King, is someone who would care enough to keep the business running and offer the same type of and quality product its clientele in Penn Township have come to expect.
“We are going to sell it to someone who is going to continue to run the business,” he said. “As of right now, we have an employee who’s actually interested in it.”
King said one major factor in listing the business is that members of the family have gone on to take different jobs, rather than remain with Freedom Farms, which operates a number of businesses, including the doughnut and sandwich shops.
More than anything, King said, the business hopes to sell to someone who will keep it running.
“We bought this business from a farming family, we’d like to see it go to another family that’s going to take care of it, keep it running and keep the product the same and carry on the tradition,” he said.
